Vertical search is the term people sometimes use for specialty or niche search engines that focus on a limited data set. Examples of vertical search solutions provided by the major search engines are image, video, news, and blog searches. There are many other items which can affect a website’s search ranking, including all of the following: keyword research and implementation, back links, link building, content, directory submission, competitor analysis, optimization both on and off of the website in question, and still more variables. There are two main factors that Google considers when ranking results for a given query -- relevance and authority. The relevance of an entry is how appropriately it meets the needs of the given search query, while the authority is how trustworthy or respectable the source is. Authority is determined, in large part, by the inbound link profile of the page (and its domain) in question. To ridiculously oversimplify things, the more, higher-authority links you have pointing to you, the higher you’re going to rank. As Google continues to prioritize the user experience in its algorithm, this data can become critical. It’s one thing to provide a list of items that generally lead to a better user experience (like we did above), but it’s another thing completely to be able to address extremely specific elements of that experience.

Understanding what your customers and users want to learn and know is exactly how you should be developing your SEO strategy. By regularly auditing your – or your client’s – sites, you can get a good feel for what you still need to do to improve SEO. Gone are the days of keyword stuffing. Sentences actually need to make sense now. Optimise your website by ensuring that any published content is easy to read and digest. Natural keyword inclusion is acceptable, but make the readers your first priority, not the keywords. I’m sure you don’t need me to tell you that analyzing the link profiles of your competitors is one of the best ways to find backlink opportunities for your website. When a search engine spider crawls your website it cannot rate its design nor measure the level of your customer support or the services you offer. It can only read and grade the content on your website and the way you have managed your backlinks. Hence, there is a huge emphasis on the quality of the content on your site and the backlink structure you have adopted and exactly why link building is so important. Without considering a search engine user's intent, you will attract too much unqualified traffic. As long as you’re playing by the rules, there’s no significant danger that you'll earn a penalty or damage your reputation in the process. SEO used to be simple and you could just write your keyword over and over again, but has become more complex over the years. What effect does SEO have?

If search engines don’t know your website/webpage exists, your chance of ranking isn’t just an improbability, it’s an impossibility. Setting up a successful SEO strategy can be quite hard. Broken Links are becoming the content is king of link-building methods
If you have not done any link building, or have been stuck in the link building tactics of a bygone era, you’re missing out on a lot of potential search engine power. The best link building strategies take more time and effort and are focused on building relationships and providing valuable information, not gathering the most links possible. Tags are intended to give search engines a method of understanding the site’s architecture. Google will compare a page’s title tag to content on the page to check for keyword consistency, which means you need to be attentive when optimizing SEO. DA/PA and CT/TF are all third party metrics meant to somehow replace the void left by the famous Google PR (Page Rank). Obviously none of them could replicate PR real values of nowadays (as those values are being kept secret for quite a while now). Think of the last time you wanted to purchase a product but knew next to nothing about it. What did you do? You likely used a search engine to look for online reviews or articles about the product. If the most helpful article was on a site that also sold the product, odds are that you purchased at that site. The more a site is appealing to humans, the more search engine like it. Websites with straightforward navigation tend to win over visitors than those with a messy URL structure and content organization.
